Frequently Asked Questions

What types of laptops do you repair?

I work on most Windows laptops and MacBooks, from budget models through to gaming and business machines. If you are not sure about your model, just call with the brand and model number and I will let you know.

How long does a laptop repair usually take?

Common jobs like screens, SSD upgrades and simple charging faults are often done within 24 to 48 hours. More complex motherboard or liquid damage work can take longer. I will always give you a realistic timeframe when you drop it off.

Do you offer a warranty on laptop repairs?

Yes. Laptop repairs come with a 1 year warranty on parts and workmanship. If the same issue returns within 12 months, contact me and I will check it again.

Can you fix liquid damage or “no power” laptops?

In many cases, yes. I can inspect and clean boards, replace damaged parts and do micro soldering where it makes sense. With liquid damage there are no guarantees, but I will always explain what I find and the likely cost before you decide.

Will I lose my files during the repair?

Most repairs do not touch your data. Your documents and photos usually stay exactly as they are. If there is any risk to data, I will tell you before starting. If you can, it is always a good idea to have a backup.

How much does a laptop repair cost, and is it worth it?

Cost depends on the model and the fault. Some older laptops are not worth spending money on, and I will tell you honestly if that is the case. The best way to get an accurate price is to call with the model number and a quick description of the problem.
