Frequently Asked Questions
What phones do you repair?
I mainly work on Apple iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones. I can look at other brands in some cases, but most of the time iPhone and Samsung are the ones that make sense to repair.
How long does a phone repair usually take?
Common jobs like screens, batteries and charging ports are often finished the same day or within 24 to 48 hours. If parts need to be ordered or the fault is more complex, I will let you know the expected time when you drop it off or call.
Do you offer a warranty on phone repairs?
Yes. Phone repairs come with a 1 year warranty on parts and workmanship. If the same issue comes back within 12 months, get in touch and I will check it again.
Can you fix charging issues and “no power” phones?
Yes. I deal with a lot of phones that only charge at certain angles, do not charge at all or will not turn on. I can replace charging ports and batteries, and in many cases repair board level faults with micro soldering.
Will I lose my data during the repair?
Most repairs do not touch your data. Your photos and apps normally stay as they are. If there is any risk to data, I will explain that before starting so you can decide how you want to proceed. It is always a good idea to have a recent backup if you can.
How much does a phone repair cost?
The cost depends on the model and the fault. iPhone and Samsung parts vary a lot between models, so the best thing to do is call with your model number and a quick description of the problem. I will give you an upfront price and will tell you honestly if the phone is not worth fixing.
Do you use genuine or aftermarket screens?
It depends on the model and what is available. For many iPhones and Samsungs there are different quality levels of replacement screens. I only use parts I am happy to stand behind and I will explain the options, including price and quality differences, before you decide. I do not use the really cheap low quality screens you see online.
Can you fix water damaged phones?
In many cases, yes, but there are no guarantees with liquid damage. The most important thing is to turn the phone off, do not charge it and bring it in as soon as possible. I can open it, clean the board and check for damage. Sometimes it can be saved, sometimes only the data is recoverable and sometimes it is too far gone. I will always be upfront about what I find and the likely cost before you decide what to do.
